3Netra Glass
AI-powered smart glasses for the visually impaired.
Purpose-built, culturally adaptive, and 90% more affordable than existing solutions.
What It Does
Every feature. Deeply explained.
01
Navigation & Orientation
3Netra Glass uses real-time computer vision to detect obstacles and hazards in the user's path, providing instant audio alerts. Unlike traditional white cane methods, the glasses can identify objects at distance and height, catching threats that a cane would miss entirely.
Indoor navigation works without GPS by recognizing landmarks, doors, and spatial layout — enabling confident movement in schools, hospitals, and public buildings where GPS signals fail.
02
Social Interaction
The glasses can recognize facial expressions and emotional states, helping users understand how the people around them are feeling — something often invisible to those with visual impairment. It can also count the number of people in a space, providing situational awareness in crowded settings.
Over time, recognized faces can be named and associated with voice profiles, giving users the ability to greet people by name with confidence in everyday social situations.
03
Voice Interaction
Say "Hey Netra" and the glasses listen. Users can ask questions, request descriptions, or activate specific modes entirely hands-free. The system supports seven Indian languages — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Kannada, Bengali, and English — responding naturally in the user's preferred language.
Regional wake words are supported: "Netra suno" in Hindi, "Netra kelu" in Kannada. No internet required for core voice commands — the language models run on-device.
04
Object & Text Recognition
Point at any document, sign, label, or currency note and the glasses will read it aloud instantly. Powered by GPT-4 Vision and Gemini 1.5 Pro, the system achieves over 90% accuracy across printed text, handwriting, and photographed documents.
Product label scanning enables independent grocery shopping. Currency recognition supports financial independence. Document reading bridges the gap between visual and audio information in academic settings.
05
Scene Description
On demand, the glasses compose a full verbal description of whatever the camera sees — a room, a street, a crowded marketplace, a classroom. The AI identifies key objects, people, distances, and spatial relationships, narrating them in a natural, conversational tone.
Users can ask follow-up questions: "What's to my left?" or "Is the door open?" — creating a genuine dialogue with their environment.
06
Emergency & Safety
A single voice command connects users to pre-set emergency contacts. The companion app notifies family members or caregivers instantly. Location sharing activates automatically when the emergency mode is triggered.
For families and caregivers, 3Netra Glass provides peace of mind. For users, it provides the confidence to venture further, try new things, and live more independently.
